I was introduced to reflexology well over a decade ago when my father was receiving end-of-life hospice care.  He was not the sort of man who would normally have ventured into the world of holistic therapies.  However, he was persuaded by the wonderful nurses to ‘try’ a treatment and he was immediately converted.  It really lifted his spirits and allowed him to forget his illness for a short while, something I have never forgotten.

My interest in this wonderful therapy was piqued.  I found it absolutely fascinating and I did a couple of taster courses before finally deciding to train professionally.  I studied at the London School of Reflexology with Louise Keet, PGCE MAR, who has been described as ‘Britain’s leading Reflexology practitioner’.  Since qualifying, I have also undertaken postgraduate training in Pre-Conception and Pregnancy with Louise.  In addition, I have trained in Advanced Reflexology Techniques (ART) in London with the internationally acclaimed therapist, Tony Porter.   I am a full Member of the Association of Reflexologists and am on the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) Accredited Register.

After graduating in 2014

After graduating in 2014, I knew that I would have to make changes in my life if I wanted to practice as a therapist.  My husband and I decided to relocate from South Cambridgeshire to Horringer, just outside Bury St Edmunds, so that I could work from home.  Our new house came with a beautiful summer house in the garden overlooking woodland.  With the addition of air-conditioning, this is now my treatment room.  I feel very fortunate to be able to work in such a lovely environment after so many years of corporate life!

My passion for reflexology remains undiminished. There is always something new for me to learn as the body of evidence for its effectiveness as a complementary therapy grows.  It gives me tremendous satisfaction to see improvements in my clients’ symptoms and it is rewarding to see my customer base growing with return clients who simply come to enjoy the treatments.

Reflexology is a science that is based on the principle that there are reflexes in both the feet and the hands that correspond to the glands, organs and the physical anatomy of the body. Manipulating these reflexes produces a corresponding effect in the associated area of the body and it is this effect that can aid relaxation or ailments.

Reflexology can be used for treating a number of ailments, including:
