A few months ago, Baz Dale, one of the members of We Love Bury St Edmunds! Facebook group, sent me a postcard of Moyse’s Hall. But this postcard was different, as it hails from the early 20th Century.
The postcard is from 1910, and it looks quite different from what we know today. There is no gift area, no spinners with leaflets on, no nice desk with the PC’s on. Instead we have a tricycle which looks decidedly uncomfortable to use, and the Sedan chair with wheels – only room for one person inside I guess.
We have chosen to display it on the website, as when such photos are uploaded to Facebook, they tend to be heavily compressed, and as such, the lose a lot of their detail.
Do you have some old photos of Bury St Edmunds you would like to share? I know many of our members both in the group, and readers to this website, would love to see them. If so, please email me at [email protected]
