12 Days at Christmas | Bury St Edmunds | Helen Houghton

Double Debut

As our bright shiny new website is launched, avid WLBSE! Facebook fan, Helen Houghton is also launching her debut novel 12 Days at Christmas. Helen will be making a donation, to St Nicholas Hospice Care, of £2 for every book sold through this website. Helen’s book is largely set in a ‘Market Town in the East of England’ and follows the adventures and misadventures of 12 members of the Day family over Christmas and New Year.

Song 12 Days of Christmas

The book was written over 12 days and each chapter is dedicated to a verse of the Song 12 Days of Christmas. As the back cover says:
‘… centering round 12 members of the Day family – some human, some not – these stories intertwine fiction with fact, reality with fantasy. 12 stories all separate, all part of a whole. From the moment Christina realises she’s pregnant and Christmas is at hand, strange things happen.

Secrets are kept under lock and key

Secrets are kept under lock and key, feelings are hidden. Jealousies, resentments and regrets rear their ugly heads. Will Christina survive the Christmas invasion of her wayward husband’s family? Will her sister survive the car crash? Will Santa survive his sleigh ride with the evil elf Rufus Day? Who knows? If you care, or if you dare, read on….’

Copies of the book can be obtained by contacting Helen direct on Helen@feathersonline.co.uk, payment is accepted by PayPal and the books are £7.50 each including Post and Packing.
